Artist's Statement
David Lee Black is an award-winning New England artist working in photography and sculpture. He sees himself as a storyteller on a continuous quest to bridge the gap between art and life, honoring the unique qualities of both the ordinary and the extraordinary in people, places, and objects. Black's sculptures, crafted from found objects and custom fabrications, are a fascinating blend of whimsical and serious, graceful and awkward, understated and strikingly complex.

Black hopes his work encourages viewers to open their minds, exploring and interpreting his art through the lens of their own life experiences and moments, finding inspiration along the way.
Beyond his visual art, Black also applies his artistic talents and personal philosophy to music, expressive arts therapy, educational workshops, and visual artist performances.
