I’m about to do it. I’m about to forgive you for everything.” ~Mary Oliver  "Passage" has taken a life of its own as most art does which tickles me (purple). As the show comes into its final week, I am reminded of how truly blessed I am to know such great human beans who are as quirky as I am. Meet Steph Grant, a wildly talented artist who stopped by the Galatea Fine Art gallery. We have collaborated on several conceptual projects over the years and have something very special in the works! Back to the question however, what elevates art to fine art?   БОДА́ТЬСЯ means butting heads in Russian which is often an appropriate dynamic to describe a parent and child relationship, especially between a mother and daughter. Sasha and Vasi were the perfect models for the most recent "Creating Your Vision photography workshop at Galatea Fine Art Gallery in Boston.
When asked to describe their feelings when viewing this photograph, they replied... Sasha: "Even though we bump heads from time to time. No matter how big the conflict, the bond is never broken. The connection is there from birth to death." Vasi: "As my mother once said 'A child is someone who you can contemplate murdering but love to the moon and back. All at the same time."  “Had I not created my whole world, I would certainly have died in other people’s."

That is not the case with Spogga Hash. Grown out of what he calls the “unpicked flower” of the US – Providence, RI, Spogga Hash survives today as a true independent artist. Based out of New Orleans, Spogga continues to tour globally performing live music and firedancing. Spogga has been the celebrated star performer and fire-dancing curator of the internationally acclaimed Waterfire Providence for over 15 years. I was honored to have photographed Spogga at the Spot Underground, Providence, RI.
