David Lee Black with Laura M. Reckford, Executive Director of the Falmouth Art Center with David's "Excess" and "Spindrift" which will be on exhibition at the Falmouth Art Center’s Open Juried Photography Exhibition from April 30- May 31, 2021. Photography will be hung in the art center’s main gallery, The Hermann Gallery, offering visitors to Falmouth Art Center the opportunity to view the selected images.

Traditionally, pointing at the sky is a gesture of affirmation of faith, perhaps on many levels but in this instance, I just wanted to see her cool tat and see her laugh.
I visited my sculpture piece, “Silently and Light of Foot” today at @plymouth_center_for_the_arts. Rumor has it that the sculpture may be in an upcoming show featuring work that can be touched by the seeing impaired.
. . . Such are the ways of things with dance and light. A leap of faith, weightlessly, light on one’s feet . . . into the unknown. “Silently and Light of Foot is a sculptural piece created from used but beloved pointe shoes from the Island Moving Company ballet dancers of Newport, RI and a pre-civil war era shoe rack from one of Natick’s oldest mills. The marriage of the two beautiful objects reflect a subtle story of ‘light of foot’ and reminder that we once weren’t and then, were and at some point, won’t be. “The rain will stop, the night will end, the hurt will fade. Hope is never so lost it can’t be found.”
