I visited my sculpture piece, “Silently and Light of Foot” today at @plymouth_center_for_the_arts. Rumor has it that the sculpture may be in an upcoming show featuring work that can be touched by the seeing impaired.
. . . Such are the ways of things with dance and light. A leap of faith, weightlessly, light on one’s feet . . . into the unknown. “Silently and Light of Foot is a sculptural piece created from used but beloved pointe shoes from the Island Moving Company ballet dancers of Newport, RI and a pre-civil war era shoe rack from one of Natick’s oldest mills. The marriage of the two beautiful objects reflect a subtle story of ‘light of foot’ and reminder that we once weren’t and then, were and at some point, won’t be.
