Tactile art . . .

I visited my sculpture piece, “Silently and Light of Foot” today at @plymouth_center_for_the_arts. Rumor has it that the sculpture may be in an upcoming show featuring work that can be touched by the seeing impaired.

Such are the ways of things with dance and light.
A leap of faith, weightlessly, light on one’s feet . . . into the unknown.
“Silently and Light of Foot is a sculptural piece created from used but beloved pointe shoes from the Island Moving Company ballet dancers of Newport, RI and a pre-civil war era shoe rack from one of Natick’s oldest mills. The marriage of the two beautiful objects reflect a subtle story of ‘light of foot’ and reminder that we once weren’t and then, were and at some point, won’t be.
