Does the world return to grain? Traveling through the medieval walled city of Athenry, Ireland. (Baile Átha an Rí,), I made the journey to this abandoned horse barn and enjoyed a moment of just being still among the objects that were left behind.
“'The story of my recent life.' I like that phrase. It makes more sense than 'the story of my life', because we get so many lives between birth and death. A life to be a child. A life to come of age. A life to wander, to settle, to fall in love, to parent, to test our promise, to realize our mortality- and in some lucky cases, to do something after that realization.”
~Mitch Albom Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride! "
“When they see you shine, some will start to pull your old files, in a bid to stop your shine. Don’t let it stop you, shrug it off and shine on!”
~Gift Gugu Mona “She decided to free herself, dance into the wind, create a new language. And birds fluttered around her, writing “yes” in the sky.” ~Monique Duval “Body language speaks much more succinctly and honestly than mere spoken words.”
~D. Waters The Cross of Spancil Hill is Ireland's oldest horse fair and is held once a year on June 23rd. It is one of my favorite places to photograph as the culture is rich, the people are wonderful and the horses are grand! |
