There was always something quite special about simply being in the barn's morning light listening to the Still Life.

I first met trumpeter Eric Benny Bloom at Club Fete in Providence, Rhode Island when the Extraordinary Rendition Band was sharing the bill with his funk band. Energetic, talented and down to earth, Eric was a delight to listen to and converse with. Later, Eric asked me to do a photo shoot of him and we chose the surrounding urban neighborhood of Olneyville as the location. Several of the photos eventually made their way onto his promotional materials and it has been fun watching his career skyrocket sinc
Throughout his professional career, Eric has toured in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia with various artists. He has also appeared on many T.V. shows, including the Craig Ferguson Show, the Carson Daly Show, Jimmy Kimmel Show, the Today Show, the David Letterman Show, and the Conan O’Brien Show. In 2011 Eric joined "Lettuce", one of the most critically-acclaimed funk bands in the world today. Their last album "Crush", released in 2015 was widely received amongst musicians and fans alike. In 2014, EBB moved to New Orleans and quickly made a name for himself in the Crescent City. In 2016, he played trumpet on Aaron Neville's newest album, "Apache" and also won a Grammy for playing trumpet on Jon Cleary's latest album, "Go-Go Juice". When Eric is not on the road with "Lettuce", he can be seen performing around New Orleans with a number of artists ranging from the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Preservation Hall, Stanton Moore Trio, or his own groups Sonic Bloom and Eric Benny Bloom & The Melodies. https://www.ericbennybloom.com/ Thank you Plymouth Center for the Arts and Megan Coupland for this nice photo of my artwork, "Tumbleweed Connection", interpreted as a floral arrangement in their recent exhibition. It looks especially beautiful on this dreary day.

(From the Excalibur shoot) It isn't given to us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
~F. Scott Fitzgerald Having done countless photoshoots at the historic Providence Biltmore Hotel, I return to the enchanting shoot with ballet dancer Heather Brown. Her playful spirit was shining as she tenderly interacted with the grand piano while I was scouting around the balcony. I am thrilled to return to the hotel, now The Graduate hotel, later this month for an exclusive ballet shoot in the grand lobby while they are closed due to the pandemic. #makeart despite all odds.

16 x 24” How does a part of the world leave the world? How can wetness leave water? Spanning a creek which eventually leads to the Mississippi River stands a civil war-era bridge which is not far from where I was born in rural Missouri. Exploring under the bridge gave view to a reflective duality coexisting among the ripples. Perhaps people aren't all good, and people aren't all bad. We move in and out of darkness and light all of our lives. Little did I realize at the time when I photographed “Tumbleweed Connection” in the ghost town of Piedmont, Wyoming that it would eventually be making the New England gallery scene.
