When a comfort level is reached in terms of style, how can you break out of it?
For me, it was finding other influences in places where I haven’t looked before including working with a new medium at high temperatures. The resulting effort has proved beneficial by learning that “Vertebrae” was juried into the exhibition “2020” in the Mary Cosgrove Dolphin Gallery at Worcester State University, Worcester, Massachusetts. As of March 4, the virtual exhibition will be available at this link: wsuvpagallery.weebly.com . Vertebrae 18 x 34” $1300 . Gutting a grand piano and baking the white keys at 475 degrees for 20 minutes to combine them with a single ebony key was a journey into what it may feel like to be black in white spaces. . . . . #sculptureart #art #newenglandartist #contemporaryart #contemporaryartist #contemporaryartists #sculpture #creativelife #artoftheday #contemporaryartcurator #instaart ##americanartcollector #artnewengland #assemblage #foundobjectart #artscopemagazine #artgallery #americanart #davidleeblack #blackhistorymonth #blackhistory #blackinwhitespaces
