There is something quite exquisite and even exciting about the stone walls of Ireland and the men that build them. The walls are the work of skilled stone masons, who often pass the technique down in families. In some places locals will know at a glance who built the wall simply by looking at the way the stones are placed. Such is the case with Johnny Lee, age 91, of Corofin, quietly proud of his skill, who took the time to explain the history and tools used for this craft.

I know that man Johnny Lee and indeed his skills in many cases cease to exist. Johnny knew how to make a shilling when things were hard.

It was an honor and a privilege to have met Johnny and Cora fan. I am returning to Ireland, County Clare on May 21 with my camera and would like to meet other such individuals if you know of any that you could introduce me to?
